This is an awesome initiative in the right time. Kudos to the brave move.
I have been a silent Spectator of the chain of mails going around on this subject. It sounds perfect and lot of ideas are flowing in. Given the fact that the subject is not that easy to conquer,This is the "right time" to get it started. When i said right time, i really meant it.
The right time b'coz
1. We are not acting in rush of blood (Old enough)
2. Most of us are decision makers financially.
Challenges
1. Keeping the Spirits up and moving
2. Ensuring right victim/family is chosen.
My Views
As some of us have already mentioned i prefer not to donote to any bigger home/NGOs . Sponsoring children for their primary education sounds good to me (This is debatable). We shall discuss this later.
Execution Plan(proposal)
We shall form 3 committee
1. Advisory/Approval committee -- Responsible for approvals/FinanceAudit
2. Execution committee -- All of us are part of this and Reps will be chose
upon demand and shall be shuffled periodically.
3. Finance committee -- Max of 3 members of which 2 should be based in
Chennai and one cud be in US.
The committee members shall connect to a conference call on a weekly basis to discuss the check points/progress of our initiative.
